I didn't expect Federal Donuts to be located in the middle of a quiet residential neighborhood, and I was having serious doubts that the GPS was functioning properly.

There's a thousand jokes but since this site is Rated PG at it's diciest, I'll just keep it there.
- I'll stick with the chicken on the left.
- It's even spicy.
- You can try it for only 65 cents.
- Lorena Bobbitt is employed here.
Readers, add your jokes...

Mediterranean Grill wasn't my my first option. After walking almost the entire mile of the concourse in search of something that would pop out and nothing did, I circled back and stopped here. The reason I didn't stop in initially is that after reading the menu, it felt Americanized Mediterranean rather than authentic.

With a packed parking lot, I wondered how long I would have to wait. It appeared to be a good omen of good food. Fortunately The Hitching Post has a very spacious interior which allowed me to be seated immediately. There were more open tables than I believed possible given the packed parking lot.

I've stopped here twice. The first time wasn't favorable but I decided to give La Tapenade another shot as I'm quickly learning refrigerated cold sandwiches stale quickly, even those prepared at higher quality eateries, and are only a notch better than vending machine sandwiches.

Andrew Zimmern of Bizarre Foods America did a feature here and sucked up to John and Momma and proclaimed the Roast Pork as the best.. Zimmern has encyclopedic knowledge of foods but you have to question if his reviews reflect reality when he finds everything from brains to ass to placenta to funky toes wonderful.

Being on the outskirts of the city and outside the tourist zone, I figured the El Sombrero customers were predominately locals. That a few customers were Hispanic was a great sign. And it was steady busy if not packed during the lunch which was another great sign for a restaurant on Sandy.

This is what first class looks like on an extended flight on Delta. A delay resulted in an upgrade.
Did you know that cabin pressure affects how we taste sugar and salt? That's why airline food seems to taste bad when it may not be (or may be). The Chicken Salad was on the bland and dry side but I truly couldn't complain as I was getting an unexpected meal. Umami, the fifth taste, reportedly is not affected by altitude and so airline chefs are working to incorporate more of it in the food.
The difference between first class and coach is that in first class the attendants treat you like a human being rather than cattle, not to mention the wide seats and a sense of personal space and dignity. I could fly like this all the time. It's unfortunate all customers aren't treated first class regardless of seat assignment.

Even late night the queue extended out the door and it never shortened in the time we were there. No matter because it was only slightly chilly, and we had great undiscovered talent signing up storm for us this evening.

Word association. Ikea. Food? No, the response would be Swedish or furniture. But you will find a cafeteria at Ikea and on a Saturday morning before the store area opens, the parking lot had a surprising number of cars.
