Petite Provence - Portland International Airport PDX

I hadn't been in to the PDX airport in awhile and so it was a unexpected and pleasant surprise to see Petite Provence had moved in.  I just couldn't remember what eatery it had replaced.

Taco Time - Portland, OR

As I drove up, I wasn't sure if Taco Time was a chain restaurant or if it was local independent and I still was a little unsure seeing the cashier and cook wearing casual clothing but it soon became apparent with the slick professionally made menus and signs.

Pho Oregon - Portland, OR

The front of the building facing 82nd Ave with a huge Pho Oregon sign brings to mind a store with perpetual going out of business liquidation sign but never shuts down. That being the case, I'm glad I decided to stop in because the pho was one of the best I have had.

Chai Thai - Portland, OR

HA VL Sandwiches - Portland, OR

Alas, HA VL is open for breakfast and lunch only. They are renown for their uncommon and uncommonly delicious daily soup specials which they make in limited batches that sell out all too soon. Despite being not visible from the street on the backside of Vietnamese centric mini strip mall, the foodies still come in droves.

Maggiano's Little Italy - Schaumburg, IL

Despite the cold evening, Miaggiano's was operating at near capacity and we were fortunate to get a table immediately. The middle to upper middle class crowd on this evening created a comforting, inviting, and joyous atmosphere.  The comforting decor reminding me of The Godfather.
