China Cafe - Chicago, IL
China Cafe opens earlier than most of its competition. We stopped in with a recommendation by a local.
The Ha Gow skin was thick and the shrimp lacked a fresh snappy bite. The Cheung Fun was thick also. The Shrimp Stuffed Peppers were capable. The Chicken Feet was a favorite, steamed tender with a spicy savory kick.
Chicken rice. The chicken was velvety soft. They actually did a good job on this.
Taro. Hot, fresh, crispy, but on the flavorless side. Because of its freshness, this was a favorite.
Restroom Rating: 7.3. Surprisingly clean for a restaurant in Chinatown.
