Flying Elephant - Portland International Airport PDX

You're captive past security but pre-security, are the restaurants higher quality and lower cost? Nothing that intrigued me but Flying Elephant seemed to be just a little different than others.

Croque Monsieur or Croque Madame?  That's what it narrowed it down to.  Which should I order? The servers behind the counter didn't provide any useful ideas. I asked which one was more popular. Fifty-fifty. Great, that was a lot of help.

I ordered the Croque Monsieur and in hindsight should have and the Madame. Why? The Madame has the same ingredients plus an egg all at the same asking price.

Croque Monsieur is the fancy French name for a grilled ham and cheese sandwich with bechamel sauce although I don't recall bechamel listed as an ingredient on the item description.  I thought all the white stuff was cheese but memory fades.  It's hard to go wrong with a grilled ham and cheese sandwich and as this one goes, it was quite good but didn't distinguish itself.

The nugget looking thing to the left is a Coconut Macaroon.  Again, decent but not distinguishing itself.

One man considers one day more sacred than another; another man considers every day alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind. Romans 14:5
