Taco Bus - Tampa, FL
Featured on Diner, Drive-Ins, and Dives and Man vs. Food.
Taco Bus is a bus yet it isn't a bus. If you're looking for a bus, it's in the back, not visible from the street. The first time here can be a tad confusing with 4 spots where you on a first glance you can potentially go to order. Most prominent are two buildings. Then there is a backside trailer and the titular bus.
Despite the Open sign, the building was locked early morning.
The bus was closed for orders but the backside trailer was open.
Breakfast Burrito with Chorizo. The burrito was made to order and huge at about 3/4 lbs if not more. It was also low cost at $4.99. Picture above, the burrito is half consumed. The middle was scorching hot and a gooey but delicious mess with a pleasant easy mouthfeel. The tortilla was fresh. The components all worked well. It was a little on the flat side but that's easily overcome with two accompanying salsas. Both were equally moderately fiery and I flip flopped back and forth between the two. The verde had a definite tinny bitterness end note. The red salsa had a sweet end note and that's what I eventually settled on. The burrito would have been even more comforting on a cold winter day.
If this burrito was representative of Taco Bus output, I understand its popularity. Count me won over.
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all of our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4
